What time is it!!? It's game time!! Whooo!!

Been busy since the last update but I actually have something to show for it as I've been trying to get stuff ready with a purpose in mind.

Yes that's right my human team are now ready for some Blood Bowl action. I'm really pleased with how these guys came out (despite looking at Dave Taylour's awesome team) and am already planning some additions to the team as well as some models to represent inducements and coaches.

Team Captain and Thrower Daniel Marinus alongside Rookie Catcher Chadrick Viesner.

Catcher Jeralt Oryza with Blitzer Leister August Spite
I can now also call myself a mini wargam... I mean mini sports player as I played my first full game of Blood Bowl with the Tilean Freewings against a very honourable chap who took the time to help me over some of the rules and appreciated just having fun for fun's sake (which I've heard is not necessarily so with alot of other gamers). I'll be joining his local league with a couple of other cool cats in season 2 and am definitely looking forward to getting more involved.

Centre Lineman Ivan Korgski (who funnily enough spent alot of the time on his back for most the game)

Apart from that I've started another new, short project. I've been watching the progress of the Halo Ground Command game from Spartan Games and been on the fence about getting into it.

Scale comparison for the minis next to a Micro Ops Master Chief (top) and a ten pence piece (bottom)

I finally took the plunge and bought myself a UNSC command section off of Ebay (the fact that it includes three Spartan figures along with a few specialist marines for less than you'd get it on the main website definitely was a factor in it's purchase) and set to getting it painted. In all honesty, if I hadn't got into Blood Bowl, then I would have picked up the boxed set for the game instead.

I was surprised by the detail of the infantry models and I'm really excited for getting them painted up. With their scale I should be able to get them finished in no time and if all goes well with the rest of my long list of hobby projects I may even invest in getting the boxed set at some point. However for now I need to focus on getting the rest of the Blood Bowl box finished (along with the two coach models I've ordered for my Human team off of Ebay).

Stay tuned for further updates and I hope you enjoy the pics.
